Default Hi

I will be stopping by on way to New York from MD visiting family. If anyone got Taylor/Hoy cards or deaf sports related. Feel free to text me at 718 954 1119. I look forward to see you all. I might be the one of very few deaf people in the crowd

Best,
Danny

I just got back from the show. I felt the attendance wasn't as strong as Hunt and most of the vendors were selling shiny stuff and auto baseballs. That said, I was able to pick up a N300 and shake Dan Marino's hand. As a Pitt alum, it's always fun to see him. With this being the first time around, the show has a lot of potential, just not as many choices.

I was at the show yesterday and was happy with the outcome. I got to meet the famous Ted and chat for a while as he had T206 Taylor waiting for me. It was the only Taylor I could find at the show. I got to pick up few cool sports uniforms for my son at really cheap.

The admission was free and they let me choose to meet a player for free so i went ahead and got Jenkins ticket and met him. He was very cool guy and signed my baseball with two inscription ( HOF 91, CY Young 71 )

I wish I could go back tomorrow to meet more Hall of Famers but couldnt make it Hope they will be doing another show in the area again. They will be doing another show in Chicago. I think it will be strong one. We shall see.

Best,
Danny

Was at the show earlier today and as expected, the show was mostly focused on the autograph guests. From a dealer standpoint, lots of dealers selling supplies and modern cards. For the most part, I thought the prices for the prewar stuff was pretty good. Overheard quite a few people bashing the prices of 707, but the other dealers were quire fair on the prices. Unfortunately, I did not find anything in my collecting focus. With stronger attendance, I could see the show being competitive with the Philly Show, especially if some of the more well known dealers switch over.

Default New Philly BB card Show in Oaks, PA......Oct 17-19......Check-it-out

OK, so here are 4 vintage dealer's perspectives regarding this show............

Friday's attendance was rather soft....nevertheless, I had a good day. I sold two Old Judge's, a bunch of T206 HOFer's and commons,
a complete 1952 Bowman set, and a good number of Phillies cards.

Although it's tough to gauge the size of today's crowd since the Oaks showroom is huge, the show was quite crowded. Another good
day for me, as I sold more T206's, a complete 1949 Bowman set, 1952 High #'s, and some more Phillies cards.

Don (Donscards), Levi (707), Gary Nuchereno, Bob Snyder, and I were quite pleased with the show (so far). And, all of us concluded
that it has the potential of being a pretty good show in the future.

Furthermore, a very encouraging indicator was that quite a number customers who visited my table had already gotten their Jenkins,
or Rose, or Schmidt autographs and were browsing around for BB cards. Instead of departing right after the signing sessions.

Stay tuned....tomorrow is one more day at the Oaks show.

Quick report on the show. I am very pleased. Nice turnout and collectors are buying. I sold a 1966 topps set. 59 starter set. 72 set. 1951 bowman PSA 2 mantle. 2 mayos. Nice assortment of graded cards plus auto baseballs etc. I met my goal sat. I will certainly come back to philly. I am off to the show now. It was very nice to meet Ted Z. We had a nice chat. Don

Default Line to get in

Is rather long and it's Sunday morning. Good sign for the show.

Just left the show, was a rather nice crowd for a Sunday. Nice mix of prewar, vintage, and modern at the show along with supplies and autographs. The dealers I spoke with told me they had a good show and would be back for the next go around. These dealers included Levi Bleam, Vic Stanley, Ted Z, JD Heckathorn, and AJ Firestone. I would definitely consider the show as it has a much more attractive rate than Hunt and it looks to be in a nice large well run facility. If they can get a few more national guys to give this show a try I think it could be a keeper.

First and foremost.....Thanks Danny Gabel, Glyn Parson, and Eric Perry for your very kind words.

I enjoyed chatting with 14 - Net54 members who visited with me during the 3 days at the show.

It was a great show at Oaks, as far as I'm concerned. Sold, Traded, & Picked up some nice stuff.
The T3 pictured here is the "highlight" of my pick-ups....thanks Don for the nice deal.

Furthermore, my understanding is that there will be a follow-up Show here at Oaks in the future.
I, and several of the dealers I spoke with are looking forward to this future event.

Footnote..It is rumored JSA cancelled their commitment to set-up at this show due to the edict
issued by the Valley Forge people. Several customers who were expecting to see Jimmy Spence
were very disappointed.
