This was an interesting auction to be going on in parallel to the Lenox discussion. It had many of those details that seem to fit with a seller who has no idea what they are selling and the value. It was listed under Tobacciana and not under baseball cards. They did not list the series name or any player names. So one might think, "this very well could be a cheap and hidden find...should I alert the seller?" But then a closer look reveals them to be obvious fakes.
I suspect the seller had no idea what they were and believed them to be real. A true scammer would have listed them under baseball cards to get more hits and would have mentioned the presence of Hall of Fame players. |
