Love the metal grommets. Has there been any research as to how many years that style (vertical date on left) was done?

Edit: I also wonder if this was a St. Louis regional release? The 1938 Cards didn't win anything!

Rob, this style is seen as far back as a '19 White Sox pennant, and others dated in the 20s and 30s. Eventually the grommets (which attached the tassels) were eliminated and the tassels were sewn on by a single line of stitching.

The Browns logo on that pennant is fantastic.

Greg, you continue to amaze me with your overall knowledge of pennants...

Thanks Chris. I would think I can't hold a candle to Mark, I gotta believe his collection is the best. I am sort of a Rob Deer of memorabilia collectors, only collect pennants, and know absolutely NOTHING about anything else. I think I have an old Phillies program somewhere in the attic .....

We kind of just had this discussion with the 1936 Yankees pennant with this similar design. There was a 1919 Chicago White Sox version like this in the Halper collection and the newest I have seen is the 1942 St. Louis Cardinals if I remember correctly. There was a similar, but different 1944 Cardinals and Browns version as well. Very tough design in general, but you usually see the Cardinals versions more than others

This 1959 White Sox pennant isn't rare and fairly common, but I still love it anyway.
