Not crazy at all. I listened to it also and it was an absolute pleasure. Note that aside from it being Dick Bass' only major league outing it was also one of the five ML games that Elmer Gedeon played. He was later killed in WW2.

Here's a great Ty Cobb interview. Start at the 10 minute mark. Very cool that he says he always fixed a piece of lead to his shoe and wore it all through spring training. Once the season started, he took it off and his legs had a spring.
