Have you ever wanted to hear Walter Johnson's voice?
|
That was really cool. You get so use to seeing cards of these guys but never think about what they sound like.
Thanks for posting. |
That is pretty neat. Thanks.

What a treat!

The good old days when times were simpler and baseball was front and center. Very neat to hear Big Train's voice. Like the article says, a true Kansas farm boy ;)

Very cool, thanks for posting it

As for listening to the Big Train himself, wow. The chance to not only hear the voice of perhaps the greatest pitcher in history, but to listen to the English language the way it was spoken 75 years ago, is a rare treat.
On the other hand, it is sad to hear what our language has become. |
Very cool indeed

That is really cool. I will be listening to the entire game today at work. It should make my day worth while.

Bryan--This is so cool. While he ain't Vin Scully, it's a delight to listen to one of my favorite players of all time. Thanks for sharing this link.
Cheers, Mike |
This is awesome. I thought it was cool hearing some of the names, especially Mickey Vernon playing in his first of four decades. You would also think the family of Dick Bass would love to hear it, Walter Johnson calling their relative's only major league game.

Frigging AWESOME!!! Thank you.

Does anyone know of an earlier regular-season game broadcast that survives? There are some world series games, but I think this might be the earliest from during the season. And if so, I wonder what's the next earliest? This one is from Sept. 21, 1939.
