56 Mantle -Triple Crown year and MVP. Iconic card of an iconic player. Just my personal choice, however either card is a nice addition to any collection.

52 mays is absolutely one of my favorite cards of all time. So many Mantle's are perfect images of him but Mays wasn't as photogenic ,IMO. 52 shows all his intensity and career ahead of him. Defiantly my choice.

Gotta go 56 Mick. As said earlier, triple crown year and an iconic card. It's arguably Mick's most visually appealing card. Saying a lot considering all 50s Micks are gorgeous.

Now wrong choice here though. That Mays is a stunner as well.

Default I'd go with

whichever one I could find a better deal on and pick up the other one at a later date. Both are great cards with solid demand.

Default Mantle or Mays

My preference would be the '56 Mantle. That is probably my favorite card.

In the card they re-arranged several things from the original photo....like the height of the ball and they duplicated the crowd scene as well. They guy in the tie and people surrounding him were put in twice. I don't have a copy of the photo they used. It would be nice to see for comparison purposes.

There was a great thread a while back with the original photos of the 56 cards. I do remember seeing the Mantle picture, the ball was a home run for sure. They moved it down for the card.
