[QUOTE=ThoseBackPages;1172312]My goodness! THAT is exactly the kind of Wagner i am looking for. May i ask what it typically goes for?]
Hi Erick. I paid a little more than I wanted but it was the background color (red) that I needed. A violet or red one goes for more because they are so scarce in those two colors. Now I need the gold background Wagner and I will have finished up the Wagners.... |

I think the violet scarcity in the E94 is due also to the fact that a few collectors are trying to collect the set in violet only and many collectors just love the violet background color. Last edited by tbob; 08-18-2013 at 03:03 PM. |

A couple of great additions to your collection there, Ian!
I've been reading quite a bit about Jimmie Foxx. I've always felt he has been a tad underrated as far as the game's all-time great power hitters go. I'd put him in the same category with Ralph Kiner in that regard. At some point this fall, I'll be looking to add a '34 Goudey Foxx to my collection. Both the '33 and '34 Goudey sets are really growing on me. I was looking at Rob Miller's '33 set, and it's incredible. I see why they're both so popular with collectors. What I'd really love to have is the '34 Goudey Lou Gehrig # 37. I took one look at John's (Wonkaticket) card, and fell in love with it. Mine would be a lower graded one, obviously, but still have great eye appeal.
