[QUOTE=ThoseBackPages;1172312]My goodness! THAT is exactly the kind of Wagner i am looking for. May i ask what it typically goes for?]

Hi Erick. I paid a little more than I wanted but it was the background color (red) that I needed. A violet or red one goes for more because they are so scarce in those two colors. Now I need the gold background Wagner and I will have finished up the Wagners....

Thank you for responding which of the background colors is "easiest"?

Erick- the E94 set is unusual in many ways, one of which is that different players are scarcest in different colors. Violet and gold backgrounds have for many, many years been presumed to be the toughest colors to find but olive green appears to be the toughest with several players. The olive green Byrne, for example is almost impossible, I have only seen one ever and still need it. In the Wagner, the red appears toughest for some reason.
I think the violet scarcity in the E94 is due also to the fact that a few collectors are trying to collect the set in violet only and many collectors just love the violet background color.

Picked up a couple of T213-2 Coupons on ebay tonight. I hope I don't get started on this set again!

A couple of great additions to your collection there, Ian!

I've been reading quite a bit about Jimmie Foxx. I've always felt he has been a tad underrated as far as the game's all-time great power hitters go. I'd put him in the same category with Ralph Kiner in that regard.

At some point this fall, I'll be looking to add a '34 Goudey Foxx to my collection. Both the '33 and '34 Goudey sets are really growing on me. I was looking at Rob Miller's '33 set, and it's incredible. I see why they're both so popular with collectors.

What I'd really love to have is the '34 Goudey Lou Gehrig # 37. I took one look at John's (Wonkaticket) card, and fell in love with it. Mine would be a lower graded one, obviously, but still have great eye appeal.
