Killebrew was one of the greatest autograph signers in the history of sports. The top one looks like maybe he had his hands full, or signed while someone was holding the 3x5 stack for him but I have no doubt it's good...the guy would sign and sign until everyone who wanted one got one.
Another thing about Killer is when he signed, he actually acted like he enjoyed it. I have no doubt this was sincere. He'd smile, thank people when the complimented him, take pictures, shake hands, whatever. Few professional athletes have been so in touch with the fact that fans pay their salary. |
