lol. Teams would hire people to try to coax him into bars for all night checker games the night before he was scheduled to pitch.

Burdick spent a lot of time mounting his cards. Are any of the cards loose, or are they all glued onto pages?

Wasn't like that when I went. I was there, asked someone about the cards, they said I can view them with an appointment which I made for the following week. But that was at least 15 years ago I guess maybe their policy has changed. |

I remember them being in holders but I could be wrong. They took me in a back room and piled boxes on a large wooden table. When I was done with the boxes, they took them away and bought out more boxes. There were a few other people in the room viewing textiles and other stuff. I do remember the Honus card being in a large almost 8x10 picture frame. I thought this was an odd way to store Honus. Such a HUGE holder for such a small card but then again, I guess Honus is worthy of the biggest holder lol.

WOW how time flies. I am just doing the math in my head, 15 years ago would have been 1998. I was there to view there card collection 20 maybe even 25 years ago not 15 years ago. I am sure policies have changes like Barry stated

The last time I went was around 1996 or 1997, but afterwards I wrote an article for VCBC, along with Jay Miller who joined me, about the collection. I know it's changed over the years due to the large number of people who have asked to see it. Back in the 1980's, when I first went, an appointment was just a formality.
