Here is another unopened pack that might help with the manufacturer....These 2 packs are NOT to size and the colorful one is quite a bit bigger than the other, in real life.

My guess is that it is reversed so that the "Y" you are seeing is the last letter and it is GENE AUTRY (they would sometimes misspell his name Autrey), anyways it seems to work from the photo I can see.

I may be wrong, but I think Gene Autry didn't appear on film until 1934ish?Dave.

Well you guys are amazing as always! It certainly does look like Gene Autry. I took a quick look at his filmography. His first movie was in 1935, so that puts the date for this negative and pack to 1935 or later.
Thanks again for your help!

I have a few opened packs, nearly the same, but with a company listed, and two different addresses. Mine came with an internal envelope, no pink cardboard bit, similar negatives, and 3-4 pieces of the photo paper.
They're labeled P.F. Kahler, with addresses of I ran across a nice little batch 1450 Monroe st Chicago Ill. and 1124 Tennessee Ave Dormont, Pgh, Pa. It's interesting how many names these were issued with. And how many slightly different inner contents. Steve B |
