I agree with Jay & Pete above, those corners look too rounded for normal wear. Also, the back and the front borders look too white, not that typical "cream" color as an original.
As the saying goes, why is a card like that not authenticated? - probabaly because it's not real. Tony |

It might just be the photo, but it looks like a really good fake, if it is fake. If I had a chance to see it in person, I would, if it wasn't a hassle. I've seen plenty of cards in holders with unnaturally rounded corners... The blue old mill, off the top of my head.

any idea of what type of paper stock these were printed on? I will be going to look at this card next week. Any other things I can look at to make a determination. Here is another card that is for sale.

Tell him to get them authenticated by PSA or SGC. Then make him an offer. I think it's too risky buying them raw. That Cobb has the same rounded corners as the RUth.
Are these the only two cards that are for sale? Any commons? Seems strange that if the only two cards he has are two of the most valuable players from the set. Does he have the Joe Jackson as well? Just my two cents Tony Last edited by e107collector; 05-05-2013 at 08:15 PM. |

They are in a local auction. The auctioneer generally sells old wooden stuff and he knows nothing of the cards. Thanks for all the info.
