I'm looking forward to baseball starting, but as a Pirates fan, I'm not really looking forward to this season. I just don't think they will be that good this year despite high hopes from some fans. I cover minor league baseball(occasionally the majors) so I'm looking forward to that season starting. I already have about 20 games to cover, which are free with the press pass, but I still bought tickets to ten more already and I'm sure I'll go to more. Also next week I'll be going to Spring Training for the first time, so I'm not quite ready for the season to start.

The Bucs are probably looking at a 3rd place finish, at best (behind the Cardinals and Reds, and possibly the Brewers). Plus, no more gimmes with the Astros in the division, although they seemed to struggle with them, anyway.

Headed down to Clearwater in a week. See the Phils, Os, Red Sox and Yanks over 3 games next weekend. Can't wait!

If anyone is considering MLB TV and hasn't purchased it in the past, I highly recommend it. I love watching the local team as much as the next person but it is a great experience to be able to watch all the studs and to-be-stars around the league (not to mention everyone on your fantasy team).

Go Mariners! The best we could hope for is the wild card but the future is bright with 3 pitchers and 2 hitters in the top 50 or so prospects.

I agree. Reds look to be the favorite, Cardinals will be strong and you can go either way with Brewers or Pirates, both look to be 76-80 win teams at this point. It's too bad the Pirates couldn't strike while the Cubs are still early in rebuilding because they have the money to stay near the top once they do. At least there is Gerrit Cole to look forward to, he looked great today vs Team Spain

I overheard someone the other day (here in Seattle) talking about how the Mariners were going to have a better record this year, simply because the Astros were moving to the division.

My goal is to go to every game when the Astros are in Seattle.

The Astros look like they are set up for a disastrous season. A baseball pool I'm in has them at 59.5 wins and I took the under. One of the easier picks I think

With Davey Johnson all but guaranteeing a World Series appearance this year (he's retiring after this season), my Nats won't be sneaking up on anybody this year! Yes, the Nats and Orioles in the W.S would be fantastic - nothing I would like better that to see the Nats beat Angelos's team, as a payback for all Angelos did to keep MLB out of Washington for so many years!

You Pirates fans are kinda mean.

But I get it - the Astros will cycle through a good spell eventually. The Pirates...maybe not.

As a Giants fan, I owned season tickets on the Arcade (right field wall) from 2005-2009. Within weeks of buying these tickets, we learned that Barry Bonds (the main reason we got Arcade) had a mysterious knee injury and missed almost the entire season. 5 miserable seasons followed and after my increasing travel load made going to weekday/night games impossible, I decided to drop my tickets. We've since won 2 WS Championships in 3 years. I learned my lesson- the world is better when I don't own season tickets!!

I'm fired up for the 2013 NL West race and some inevitably incredible matchups with that loaded Dodgers squad. Got my opening day tickets v the Cards and will be there in full force.. same as last October!(this is the closest to game face I could do)

Ian, having met you and knowing what a great guy you are, I can only say that there must be no karma in regard to baseball fans.

Later tonight I'll post a cool Giants-thing that I found yesterday while going through some boxes.
