The submitter makes the decision to allow them to crack the slab or not. If you don't want to take the risk, they can't be expected to open the slab without your permission.

If youve submitted for crossover, I would have guessed that you are implicitly saying that you are ok having the slab cracked...as they cant regrade your card in the slab.

It's not implicit if you've submitted a card and said you will only have the card graded if it meets or exceeds its current grade.

You should consider crossing it over into a top loader. Then you can look at it however you want, it's your card.
