Killebrew hit his 500th at the Met in 1971.

Minnesota is a virtual black hole for tickets. Perhaps only 5-10 of these Killebrew 500th HR tickets have found their way into the hobby, FWIW.

Killebrew 500th HR tickets are very tough but I would guess there are more than 5-10 that have found there way into the hobby. Here is a group of 5 that I know one person has.

![]() Just ask Jason (streetsideguy on net54) how challenging it was for him to find a Killebrew 500th HR ticket. 500 HR tickets is his collecting theme, BTW. |

Picked up these two Type 1 photos recently. The Carl Hubbell was a Baltimore Sun photo that was used on his 1939-46 Salutation Exhibit. The second is Bruce Edwards was a 1949 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Issue photo that was used on his 1950 Bowman baseball card. Thanks to Curt for the pickups!

Sorry I did write it in the title just not in the body of the post. Yes it's Killebrew's 500th.
I just looked on the PSA site to see how many had been graded. There are 10 Mantle 500th HR tickets graded and only 3 Killebrews.

Thanks Keith for the bat! It does indeed have that unique look and feel for sure! Measure 38" inches long and is pictured above a "normal" game used bat. The bronze figural piece has some weight to it...over 9lbs!

I had tentatively planned a 'Johnson vs Jeffries' piece, which would have been a lot easier, but the Burns letter popped up last month. For anyone who's interested, the Ken Burns film about Johnson is on Netflix - it's over 3 hours long and contains lots of fight footage. Surprisingly clear stuff.

I'm sure cuts are easier to find, but I generally only collect handwritten letters and I haven't seen many of his. I'm not thrilled about using the card - I think it will be too small - but the alternative is a larger card of each boxer, or a photo. I'm in no hurry - I have a bunch of projects like this and no wall to hang any of it.

Finally scanned this. I don't think I've ever posted it, but my apologies if I have. It came from Ted Williams' estate - from one of his many scrapbooks.

Don't you love ebay auctions that are described/listed wrong. Bought these bats, the seller listed the Kaline as a model M110I, obviously it's a model M110L and matches factory records(shows light use). In the lot was a Steve Bilko. Also a Carl Furillo mode H4 listed at 34 inches but it actually measures 35 inches and matches factory records. The rest are players who only played acouple of seasons.
Furillo bat dates to 1955 Last edited by yanks12025; 02-21-2013 at 05:38 PM. |
