Thanks Keith for the bat! It does indeed have that unique look and feel for sure! Measure 38" inches long and is pictured above a "normal" game used bat. The bronze figural piece has some weight to it...over 9lbs!

Yeah, I like the fact that in later life he almost always wrote something very pleasant in his letters to fans - another reason these two letters should display well together. It will be kind of an ironic piece, given the attitude these two had toward each other leading up to the fight.

I had tentatively planned a 'Johnson vs Jeffries' piece, which would have been a lot easier, but the Burns letter popped up last month.

For anyone who's interested, the Ken Burns film about Johnson is on Netflix - it's over 3 hours long and contains lots of fight footage. Surprisingly clear stuff.
