Red Sox were WAY better then the Senators. They won the World Series in 1915, 1916 and of course 1918. Put WaJo on the Sox these results would most likely be different. Cy won more games then WaJo, yet Walter was the better pitcher when evaluating pitchers, wins aren't everything.
On a related note. I would love to see WaJo vs. Justin Verlander, that would be SICK.

ruth vs johnson
it's true, the sox were much better than the Sens. Whats really interesting here though is that all but one game was won or lost by one run... it would be fun to drill down into the box scores to see how many of Walter's runs were earned...
Either way, I would love to go back in time to catch one of these games... Great thread -Dave
