Drum and Carolina Brights packs must be hard to find. I have not seen those before either, but I have not really followed the packs.
Do y'all know if this information is correct about T213 distribution... www.baseballandtobacco.com/t213.htm I thought I remember Ted Z. posting about T213's being distributed in large cartons. Maybe both methods were used or maybe I have misremembered again. Thanks. |

Rob - I think Ted meant that Coupon packs were distributed in large cartons like this one : Pic 1 is picture of Top - Pic 2 is picture of the side and pic 3 is a picture of the end of the carton.

Pardon me for this modification, ole buddy. It's my opinion that the 1910 "COUPON" cigarettes were never in the standard ATC cigarette packs. They were distributed in cartons of 500 - 1000 loose cigarettes (tightly packed). These cartons can be identified by the label.... "COUPON" Cigarettes. As, I'm sure you know, the carton you have displayed is for the T213-2, or T213-3 issues (circa 1914-1919)....as the "Liggett & Myers Tobacco Co." label implies. Here is a similar carton............ ![]() Scott B.......thanks for this RAMLY carton. TED Z |

Ted - Interesting theory. I'll bite. What makes you think they were packed in cartons instead of packs ? JJ

You buy the cigarettes, collect the coupons, mail them in with your choice of player (Matty!) and sooner or later an envelope from Jersey City arrives with your prize.
