I thought the book was great, sorry to hear the DVD was not.
I thought Tommy Holmes had it as I was reading the book. On page 147 it states he had an extensive collection of baseball cards and memorabilia and that he was ahead of his time collecting items. I thought maybe he went and got the ball from Helen that day since she couldn't be seen with it. Maybe he offered her some money and told her he would mention her in the paper but not use her real name as a favor to her ( which he did). If he was a collector, he would have definitely went to the left field area and try to get that ball !! Does anyone know what happened to Tommy Holmes collection after he died ? As a researcher for the book I would have pursued this avenue. Would be curious if a ball was in that collection ?
