My personal favorite is the '39 play balls. Bigger cards, outstanding image clarity...and it's just my own personal opinion, but I think that set might have saved the hobby. Goudey was dying, every other issue was basically gone, paper was getting expensive and in short supply. The 39 and 40 sets were really the only Major distributions until peace time really settled in in '48. If it weren't for the Gum Inc sets of '39-41 who knows what might have happened to the hobby after a full decade of basic non existence

Probably a bit less mainstream, but how about some Negro Leaguers? If you like black and white or sepia, the 1920's Cuban issues are pretty hard to beat IMO.

W503...they are so crisp. Even in this lousy scan (the horizontal lines are only on the scan) of a beater card you can see some pretty intimate details of Casey's ear, if you are into that type of thing. And the action shots are fantastic.

Great cards in here wow.

I'm with Tony I do like the Weaver T4.



Also some of the N172's are super as well...all to tough to say which is the best I want them all.
