rare backs are great and all but for me a nice t206 matty trumps a tougher back any day of the week.

I won't say backs are overrated, anyone can collect whatever they chose... For myself however; I am a fan of the sport first and foremost... Cycle, drum, and Carolina brights had very little affect on the game of baseball, Cobb, Young, Johnson and the likes are known even today 100 years later by every little leaguer in the country.
For me, I'll take the guys that sculpted the actual game, not the tobacco companies. That said, I love the extra depth of knowledge and sophistication the rare backs add to the set, and it's ambiance. |

I see the appeal in collecting rare backs. However for my collection, I'll take an affordable mid grade over either.

Why not have both? Best of both words in my opinion! Nothing better than a rare back hall of famer |
