Here's a PSA 5 Cobb Green Portrait that I am VERY tired of seeing on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-T206-TY...#ht_500wt_1413 As you can see, there is a spot of paper loss in the top right corner.

I have an E121-80 Hornsby that is darn near mint in every way, with the exception of a dime sized paper loss on the reverse. As far as I'm concerned that "poor" is one of the nicest cards in my collection

I actually have a t206 frank chance psa 5 that looks like an 8, but on the back there is a tiny spot of paper loss. It actually has to be seen under magnification....in this situation, i think psa got the grade right but if it were in an 8 holder, not many people would even second glance it.....

If the mark on this card, which appears to be paperloss, is actually paperloss, then yes, they do grade above 1.
It also appears badly miscut cards also grade well on the PSA scale. I intentionally blocked out the serial number. Not my card. |

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-E92-Cro...item1c0a975085 this is what i'm talking about this looks to be a dime size chunk missing from where it was glued to something. I have seen nicer cards that get lower grades than this with no paper loss.

This SGC 30 (which I currently have up on eBay) has a small area of paper loss on the back in addition to areas of stain.

Here is an SGC 30 with paper loss on the back. Two questions: 1) Do they care less if on the back? 2) Since it got the SGC 30, and the front is very nice, would the paper loss hurt value or would it be considered a solid SGC 30?
