We all know these are fake, but now we know that he intentionally erased the number on the back of the Wagner. We know this because he posted the Wagner in the BST with the number still there. Now it appears here with no number. Unless of course he has TWO mint Honus Wagner cards...

Attached are HIS hilarious pictures. You can see the one with all 4 of them, though intentionally blurry and blue as though he lives in 1994 Afghanistan, that all 4 still have a number on the bottom right.

Magically, in this thread, the number has disappeared on the Wagner.

I know this guy was not legit, but as a public service to future "finders" of baseball memorabilia:

If you discover the most famous baseball card (T206 Honus Wagner) and the most famous baseball letter (the FDR "green light" letter) in a storage unit/cigar box/under some linoleum then they are reprints. If you discover a beat up T206 Heinie Wagner with writing on the back and a note from someone's mom asking if her son could be excused from gym class because of a broken toe, then they are real.

I hope to one day reach the point where I too can take pictures of my million dollar baseball card and ignore the kraft mac and cheese box on the floor under the masterpiece.

Reminds me of a Barenaked Ladies song.

OK. I tried to be nice. I tried to keep an open mind. I wasn't 100% convinced the first two T206 cards were fake. You know, blurry pictures and what not.

Where he went after that was almost funny. Honus Wagner with paper removed from the back? The Jackie letter with its magic green-to-black color-changing ink? The FDR letter from the Hall of Fame? I didn't see any of that 'til today.

*sigh*

I'll still be nice to people. I'll still keep an open mind. I'll still keep a firm grip on my wallet, though. The hobby has always been a mine field, particularly over the past five years. Luckily, my tendency to overthink things helps me to avoid losing money to scammers.
