I have worked in a suburban city just north of NYC, in Westchester County, called New Rochelle for the past 17 years. Perhaps you have seen it in the news recently.
Sadly, what started as one man on the north end of town, moved on to his family, and then to his next door neighbor (he was driving him to the doctor.). From there, it found its way into the local synagogue, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I am not an alarmist, but prudent, common sense measures are appropriate. I hope that we are not naive enough to believe that it cannot happen to us.
I applaud the actions being taken by several neighboring school districts that are closing out of an abundance of caution, the colleges and universities moving to online learning, the NCAA for playing games without fans (going to be quite a different experience to watch), and for all of the decisions being made to protect the American people.
