As a practical matter, I wouldn't think anyone is going to try to sue someone for talking to the FBI.

More generally, there's a whole body of law about the balance between confidentiality obligations and whistleblower rights.

I know a little bit about whistleblower rights having been one myself, and I know all too well how the laws are written are often not how they're practiced. If there is anyone who's thinking about becoming a whistleblower, I would think really long and hard about it and get a lawyer first.
