I have only a handful of baseball pins, plus a bunch of boxing. I pick them up for the players I collect or for things I recall.
This Mays pin is something I remember from when I was a little kid in NYC. There was a poster with the same artwork that hung on my closet all that year. I collect Al Rosen stuff so this one was a natural pick up for me: Just liked the look of this one: Here's an interesting item, a backing for a pin that I purchased because the graphics just screamed 1970s at me:
