Great topic, and collections. I love all smalls; pins, pencil toppers, and patches. Not just baseball, any sport. For example, I like the look of those old, shovel-nose hydroplanes. Here's a portion of my Seattle Seafair pin collection 1954-1967 with a button from the short-lived (1957-60) Lake Chelan Apple Cup:

Rob,
Any round pin info, PM-10 or otherwise, would be helpful.

I'm just trying to gain a sense of what's out there in the hobby that would match the requirements of my no-hit pitcher pinback collection....

Default Wow...

Hi Al, Rob, etc.
Great to see some truly amazing pics. It looks like Rob has the black backgrounds pretty well covered! I can't add a whole lot to the Giants button theme but thought I'd drop this odd-ball on the thread. Dr. M has the Red Sox version of this square pin and it's a really neat one in a weird baby blue color.

Scott, I have an early 70's Vida Blue at home that I'll locate later and post.

In the meantime, here's a site with a bunch of my buttons pictured. Please forgive the amateur nature of the layout. I'm no techie!!

Oh, yeah. I remember when you beat me on that. As always, it was the "one other guy in the world" syndrome

and, thanks to your site, I became aware of the Say Hey Buy USA pin and was able to find it!

P.S. Your layout is not the least bit "amateur"

Default Vida

Thanks for the nice feedback!

Scott, here's Vida. As a Bay Area sports fan born in 1967, this button has always been one of my favorites.

Hey Andy - can you check my thread from yesterday "my first question" and tell me if you know anything? Thanks!

Edit: and there's another thread titled "1970s baseball pinbacks" that asks the same question, but with more pictures.

Hi Rob,

I'm afraid I can't help with your question. I've owned a few over the years but not with the "rose" background. I've had a few A's with the same coloring as Vida. I've seen a few Cubs if I remember correctly as well.

-Andy

For the record, the Vida Blue pinback is from 1971, sold outside the stadium. These pins were unlicensed by MLB or MLBPA, and there are no manufacturer's marking whatsoever on the pins. I collect them, but they're tough to find!
I found a reference to a set of 10 Brewers pins from this set today, posted by Mears.

Just picked this up for a decent price on ebay. Dr. Paul thinks it's from 1951.

Paul....if you see this.....I have no reason to suspect this is a re-pop but it is a bit chipped, as if there's no cello. Are yours the same?

Great information to know! I wonder if they were the work of ONE photographer or of a "team"?
