I only collect T206 and only in this grade. At this point, I'm just shy of 200 and periodically look through my (incomplete) set finding the flaws that caused them to grade at SGC 40 (3). I'm always looking to pick up cards in this grade, and generally speaking I think there is relative consistency in the grading of SGC 40 T206s. I also assume that the grading criteria for an SGC 40 and a PSA 3 should be fairly close if not identical.
Here's the worst looking SGC 40 I have (in my opinion). Every time I look at it, that bottom right corner crease bugs the hell out of me. And it's just as bad, if not worse on the reverse. I have others in this grade with creases, but they are all very light. This one sticks out undeniably. This one (again, in my opinion) is over graded. Show me the worst SGC 40 or PSA 3 you have. ![]() |
