York White Roses
Day 30 (January 30, 2020 – 030)
Brooks’ professional career started with a minor league team the York White Roses in 1955. York is in Pennsylvania and the White Roses were in the Piedmont League during the time Brooks was playing. I really only have one thing from this team and that’s a small PM10 pin of the White Roses. Alan (BaltOrioles) posted a great looking White Roses program on post #6. Day 30 a.jpg York had the first bronze statue of Brooks, designed by sculptor Lorann Jacobs, and was installed in Brooks Robinson Plaza in 2008. The Plaza was right outside the York Revolution Santander Stadium, the minor league stadium name at the time, and shows Brooks in a White Roses uniform signing an autograph for two young children. The York Revolution put out a figure during the time frame of the statue of Brooks and he’s shown signing a baseball. 2009 Brooks Robinson White Roses figurine Day 30 b - 2.jpg
