Default Need Help Identifying Really Old Baseball Postcard!

I have a very old postcard with nine players in uniform with a "C" symbol. Anyone have any idea what this is? Is this even a baseball team? Thanks for any help!

Here is the backside of the postcard. Has a place for a one-cent stamp.

Back is not showing up. Is there any more than "Roger" on the front?

Anyone else think that looks like Frank Grant seated on the left?

Back just reads postcard and has a place for one-cent stamp. Theres nothing else on the front that I could make out, other than the guy in the middle looking like Deacon McGwire. I did find a Roger Peckinpaugh who played for Cleveland Naps in 1910. McGwire was also their manager at that time

It definitely is a baseball team. It appears to be from 1901-7, which is the earliest period for real photo postcards. The pleated pants are turn-of-the-century era.

Any idea who it might be of? I've had others tell me it isnt baseball, which I didnt believe for a minute. I've noticed Chicago White Sox from 1901 and 1902 have the same or similar logo.

I'm doubtful that's Cleveland.

If you ever figure out what it is, I think you'll find its a 'city' team. Something like Camden, Columbia, Clifton, Canton... some city team not necessarily in a league.

I'm not ruling that possibility out. The only one I found it might be, would possibly be Camden, because logos are similar. Others didnt seem to have any that matched. Also, the manager doesnt look the same as in this photo. I honestly think it looks like Deacon McGwire in the photo of Cleveland. No other manager or owner I've found looks anything closer. I'll keep researching to see if I can figure it out. Its possible it's a city team, too, and is the more probable answer.

It could also be of a college/university team (Columbia, Cornell, Colgate, etc); just guessing by how young the players look in the picture.

Possible. My only problem is not finding a single manager that looks anything like the one pictured here. The only one I found was Deacon McGwire, who managed Cleveland Naps between 1909 and 1911. Other than that, I havent found anyone else that resembles him as much.

The bald looking guy behind him looks like Terry Turner, who also played for the Naps in that timeframe. This is the only thing that makes sense to me right now, so I'm sticking to it until some more concrete evidence comes along. It does seem unlikely its Cleveland Naps, but there are most definitely some faces here that seem similar or identical. Whatever the case, I'll be glad to discover this, whether it be a college team or major league team.

I know it can't be but the manager in the suit resembles a bit Cap Anson. The C......Chicago?

Default slim chance

There were dozens upon dozens of baseball teams from 1901-07 whose team name started with a "C". Between town teams, work teams, school/university teams, and semi-pro teams, the chances of uncovering what the actual team was are remote. I wish you luck. I would just enjoy it as a nice photo of an early baseball team. Linking it to a major league team and star players of the era is probably wishful thinking given the lack of any more clues and the number of possible clubs it could be.

Not Chicago. Logo was a little different. If major league club, the only team I've found it could be Cleveland. Otherwise, it's likely a university.

True, but it's fun to speculate about what it might be. Theres nothing wrong with wishful thinking. To me, that's what makes this all fun. I could easily just dismiss it as a college team and not bother with it, but what would be the fun in that, especially if you find similarities with some major league players? I'm fine with it being some college team, and that is still the most probable answer here. However, at the same time, theres no denying similarities I have discovered.
