Generic cards featuring real players
The Marquard/Ruth stamp made me think of this one. Anyone have other examples?

I think there are a number of other Ruth cards that don't have him listed specifically on the back, but it's pretty much assumed that it's him on the front. Examples include:
1921 Schapira (action shots) 1928 Shonen Kulubu 1929 Churchman 1937 Donut Corp |

Hi-
Who is the Harvard player? I have it, but I always assumed it was a generic player. Alan |

Generic cards featuring real players
I'd say the E91 cards are good examples.

Ted - that's exactly the opposite of what I was asking about , but also very interesting. There are a few exceptions in that set - the Ed Reulbach is one of the best Reulbach images in my opinion.

This is likely Walter Clarkson, a right handed pitcher in the big leagues, and former Harvard pitcher. No other pitcher from Harvard pitched in the big leagues around that time....unless that's simply a generic player as this thread indicates.
