Hi,
I have a PSA/DNA slabbed authenticated Roberto Clemente Check. I recently sent it to a high end memorabilia dealer to be custom made into a display piece for me. When they sent me a photo showing the preliminary layout of the display, the label/flip of the slabbed check had moved out of place(see attached photo). The owner was adamant that this can happen, ie in shipping etc. and is not the result of a case that has been compromised(unsealed). Is it possible for the tab/flip to fall out of place like this without the case having had something done to it. They did say they were able to tap it back into place. But there is nothing to say that it wont happen again when it it is to be hung up. Thanks. Last edited by fuzzybub; 07-30-2020 at 04:00 PM. |

Yes, the flips can move. Also the larger sized holder PSA such as this one is a clam shell style, nearly impossible to open without destroying it, unlike the older small size PSA(or SGC) holders which were/are two halves just butted together with a sonically sealed seam.

I don't blame you for being pissed off...
Every aspect of that slabbing job is FUGLY. ![]() I really despise the internal "baggies" they use. |

I would just do what i have done. Make a high res copy of the check. Frame the copy and store the check in your safe/sd box. Check is safe and away from uv light
Below are check and framed copy. No one can tell the difference without inspection outside the frame. ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

Completely agree....
PSA has got to come up with a more attractive way to slab those checks. Very distracting, and not aesthetically pleasing.... especially for the price you pay them. |

When you say they are clam shell style does that mean that the top fits over the bottom like a lid on a container or that it there is literally a "hinge" of plastic that allows them to close up into one piece? |

I believe he means the top fits over the bottom and is then sealed. I've got one I'm trying to open now and it's nearly impossible.

The wait times tell me that folks are just fine with the status quo.

But that said, I believe the current crazy wait times are mainly for card submissions, and not for slabbed checks. |

Correct and they are very difficult to get open, actually without cutting with a saw, I have never gotten one of these midsize or the larger cabinet card size open. The smaller older card holders are a snap to open.
