Default What is the most controversial card now?
I was just curious what card in the industry would be considered the most controversial after the recent information with the Gretzky Wagner? There must be something better than the Cincinnati Wagner nonsense?

It's probably still the Gretzky/McNall Wagner with nothing at all close to it.

It's gone from PSA 8 to PSA Authentic, decreasing (in theory) it's value by 80%.

But with someone going to prison over the card, it may hold it's value.

Maybe. I bet whoever owns it hopes it does.

All this talk of the card trimming and the card keeping its original untrimmed value is great news. Now if I can just link my few trimmed cards to the hands of the Trim Master General Bill Mastro they are sure to jump in value to pre-trimmed prices!

Perhaps I can get SGC and PSA to do pedigree flips “Mastro Job”.

Any thoughts on what PSA will now do with the PSA 8 Wagner? Is it up to the current owner to contact them, or do they have to reach out to him to correct their mistake?

Also, if they re-grade the Wagner "Authentic," how would they determine the current value, without auctioning it off?

And, if they compensate the current owner for their mistake, does he have to give it the card to PSA at that point?

I think Kendricks should, (and probably does) have a bunch of three piece suits advising him on this conundrum.

nice John...I was thinking the same thing...who the hell wears 3 piece suits anymore...except maybe hipster doofus's...and hopefully their pants aren't pleated either!!!!

I don't really understand the controversy of the BSF?! Blue OM...yes...but not the BSF?

I understand it's hard to fathom...but the story jives...and the cards are real?

they were all found in perfect shape...not one banged up...was this the only collection in the world that had ALL mint cards that the rest of us have never seen a 5? I am hearing they were sheet cut cards....
the find should have been the uncut sheets!

This is an Occam's razor situation: An old man owned a store and kept aside or just plain forgot a stack or two of baseball cards given to him to distribute to kids. It's that simple.

I must have missed something, what do I say over and over again? That the BSF is controversial? I came to that conclusion by observing the controversy surrounding them. Capish? (sp?) Dave.

It's the T202 "Lord catches his man". There was a big debate about the center panel, and if that was Shoeless Joe Jackson pictured sliding into third.

I happen to think it is Jackson. And since this discussion, this card has been noticeably difficult to spot on Ebay.

Maybe not now, but for a night back in February this card, I guess it was more the owner, was the talk of the neighborhood...
