That's what I'm going with. I bought for ~1k in 1995 and it's now worth ~7k. Guess it makes up the ground from what I spent on a bunch of 80s/90s stuff that went nowhere and I sold for pennies long...

I'd say 7 or 8 for sure. I wouldn't even comment if it were mint because I often can't really tell the difference between a 9 and a 10 . Sometimes it looks like a coin flip to call it on the graders...

Most of it personal choice for sure. Personally, I like keeping them slabbed and in boxes. That's part of why I go for smaller sets. The 33 Goudey takes up more than 3 1/2 boxes on its own .

I think they are on par too. So yessir - straight trade. I'm just guessing that the Mantle has more upside potential than the Ruth for the short term. One man's opinion.

Flat in the short term gains. Of course Babe always goes up over the course of time. It is just that the Mantle has lept by over $1,000 in a couple months and the Babe has not.
