Default SGC Submission Kit

Posted By: ChiSoxFan

About two weeks ago, I requested a submission kit from SGC. So far I have yet to receive the kit. Does SGC still send them out? What is in the submission kit? Should just use the online form to submit cards? What type of holders are recommended for sending cards in?

Thanks,
ChiSoxFan

Looking for T206 Sweet Caporal Fact. #30 White Sox in Poor to Fair condition.

This link might be helpful, in case you haven't seen it:

Q.) How do I prepare my cards for shipping?
A.) SGC suggests the following in preparing your cards for shipping:

Place cards in semi-rigid holder (CardSaverI) or a "top loader" (please use a 'penny' or thin mylar sleeve).
Secure cards to avoid movement within holder.
Place cards in sturdy box surround with bubble wrap or wrapping material and secure the box.
Ship via a reliable carrier (insurance is strongly suggested but not required).
SGC is not responsible for any packages damaged in transit to SGC, so insure accordingly.

PACKAGING DON'TS:

Do not send card in SCREW-DOWNS or Snap-Tites.
Do not send cards without a protector.
Do not send in regular envelopes.
Do not send cards in "pages."
Q.) How do I know when you receive

It is easier to go online and start an online submission from their site. Box the cards up in toploaders and ship insured by usps. Pretty self explanatory off the SGC website.

You might want to try giving them a call and ask for one. As far as what is in the kit, I just got some card savers and submission forms with mine.

Hi ChiSoxFan,

We do still send out submission kits--most are in the mail within 48 hours. We get a lot of phishing information submitted through the request form, so it is possible that your request was inadvertently missed or deleted. Feel free to e-mail me your information, and I can get you a kit Monday.

You can submit using the online invoice without receiving the submission kit. We offer the kit for collectors who prefer writing out carbon copy invoices. Each kit has submission forms, an explanation of grading standards, and how-to information on preparing a submission.

As was posted before, Card Savers are the preferred holder for submissions, but toploaders are fine too.

If you have any questions, just let me know.

Thanks,

Brian Dwyer

Brian - On the crossover special can I send BVG and PSA on the same invoice? What's the best way to denote just one card for minimum grade and the rest cross with no mind of the new grade?

Thanks

Crossovers from any company can be combined on the same invoice--no problem. On the one card that you have a minimum grade for, I'd suggest putting a Post It note on the holder with your minimum grade. For all others where you have no minimums, you can note that in the Variations/Comments column of the invoice. Please specify whether you are just looking for any numerical grade (i.e. it's OK if a 5 goes to a 4) or if you want the cards crossed to SGC regardless of the outcome (i.e. it's OK if a 5 goes to an Authentic if we detect alterations).
