Redsox win thanks in part to Evan Longaria. He was out last night dead drunk at a bar in Boston. Almost got arrested and made an error that gave the sox the game tonight. Thanks Evan. Keep drinking!!!! |

Great news! I missed the last part of the game on my drive home--figured it was curtains for our beloved BoSox. |

I would never do a thing like that. I know where he was though. He was not in good shape at closing time. Bobbing and weaving is no way to go. Nice throwing error in the 9th. Love it. |

Terrific game. I seldom have ever actually sat through a big comeback like thatin its entirety. I notice some of the journalists were calling Terry Francona Tito. Does he also go by his old man's name or are they just mixing things up? |

My son goes to Suffolk University in Boston. He was able to get bleacher tickets just before the game fairly cheap, most people thought the sox were down and out so the ticket prices were down. |

Remember the good old days of 1991 when Jack Morris refused to give up the ball and pitched 10 innings to beat the Braves in the WS? Oh for the days before the dreaded and stupid pitch count. |

Slept through the ending, of course, and was shocked to hear the score this morning. Red Sox make a habit of digging a deep hole in the post-season and coming back. Are they going to do it again? |

As a newspaper guy, I hope to heck that the secondary headline on "Heartbreaker" is for a column and not a straight game story. Nice objectivity. |

I looked on CraigsList in the afternoon yesterday, and saw many tickets going for less than face value for Game 5 last night. I tried to convince a few people to go, and between it being cold, or the Sox weren't playing well, or the game was probably going to go past midnight with Matsuzaka and Kazmir pitching, I couldn't find anyone to go. So I watched the incredible comeback from home - what an awesome game! |

I was sitting in the Bleachers last night. The crowd was pretty dead with a few heading for the exit after the sixth. The crowd woke up a bit when "Wild Thing" started and Papelbon came in, however when he quickly gave up a two run double, a few more people left, although not as many as I expected would. However once the Sox started hitting the place really picked up. |

Saturday's the big game. If the Sox win, they'll win the series. You have to like Lester over Garza in Game 7. That said, I think the Rays bounce back behind Shields. Beckett is no longer Beckett. |

Tampa came so close to stealing the Giants back in 1992. I still remember that weaselly Tampa city manager appearing at press conference after press conference after Bob Lurie had agreed to sell to Vince Naimoli, essentially taunting the fans in San Francisco. The notion that Tampa Bay could win a World Series after only 12-13 years in the league must not stand. That was a fun game to watch last night. |

I'm not sure if I should admit this or not, but I turned down the sound on the TV and was playing this on the youtube for sound while the game was going on. Then after Drew's hit to win the game I rewound it on the DVR and played it in slo-mo with this music still going. |

Can there be any question that it is tougher to come back from a 3-1 deficit, down 7-0 in the 7th inning than it is to come back from a 3 games to 0 hole? |

It should be a cakewalk from being lumped up as a young Sox fan, beginning in 1967. I reluctantly have no comment -just an upload on this Series. Damn, in these past few years up here, humility has become a tough virtue. |

When they brought in the rookie lefthander Davis Price (five career major league apperances) to close the game, I thought about the "Nebraska farmboy" the Pirates brought in to face Roy Hobbs in "The Natural." The kid came through big time! Unfortunately, I was rooting for the Sox ... |

While obviously very disappointed this morning, I can honestly say the better team won the series. Congrats to the Tampa Bay Rays on a job well done and good luck with the Series. They really deserved to win. If anything, it will be nice to see some local kids playing. |
