I was talking to my class about early baseball players and how they had to work during the off-season just to make ends meet. I also discussed great hitters of all-time during that same lecture. So Joe Jackson was mentioned. After the following class, one of my students gave me this picture. It is not from the period. It was in a fairly recent magazine. But it is an interesting picture of Shoeless Joe. |
