It's a scarce card that for some reason shows up for sale with some frequency. It has risen in value dramatically over the last several years, so perhaps sellers are taking their profits. |

I don't think this is necessarily any scarcer than any other E90-2. With that being said I think it's the same as many other of the key cards from scarce sets in that, if you are a type collector like myself, you will tend to keep this card and not let it go. I sort of try to have a nice card from each set and this is the one I kept. Since Clarke is the only other HOF'er in the set my choice was easy. I have shown this too many times to even think about but it's still funny to me that no one would buy it, on ebay, for $1000.....after the second listing, in the correct category, Bob Smith aka Trucker Boy, sold it to me off line and the rest is history....This is the only E90-2 that his dad had collected out of his 750+ cards....He must have liked it too...... |

As of today, the SGC shows 31 E90-2 Wagners graded. It has the highest SGC population out of all the E90-2 cards they graded already. |

I agree that some of these recent E90-2's were made available by owners upgrading, it is however one of the more common Wagners of the time. |

all interesting stuff...in light of the fact that 63 have been graded...who knows how many have been re-graded...I think my initial guess on # may be kinda close...100-150 copies? obviously there is no way to know how many there are ungraded...but I'd guess atleast as many as have been already graded. A small, scarce set like the e90-2 may be somewhat "easier" to speculate as to how many examples of each card may be out there compared to larger sets based on pop reports. Would it be fair to guess there are less than 200 of any e90-2? What do y'all think? |

Aside from the portrait Wagners already mentioned, there are probably at least a couple dozen Wanger issues far tougher than his E90-2. |

So, which Wagners are tougher than T206 and which are easier? On the easier side, I assume we can safely list M116, Cracker Jack, E90-1, E92 (at least with certain backs), E93, E95, E98, and E254. |

I would say there are more E94 than T206 out there, but E103 and E105 probably have less than 75 examples each known. I'm not sure about E135. |

I would say that collectively there are more E94 wagners than T206, but if you break it down by the 6 colors, there are far far less for any single color. The same can probably be said for E98s. |

I would also say that the following issues have a pop far less than the t206 Wagner: |

Joe, those are great examples. Hard to believe the E103 is just a 3, however, especially when compared with the corners on the E90-2. |

From a collector's point of view, the e90-2 wagner is harder to find than the other e90-2s because it's more popular. Same with e90 Joe Jax and many other cards. |

I have owned both the E90-2 Wagner and the E104 Nadja Wagner (blank back version). Both cards show the same portrait on the front. My experience is that the E104 is much more scarce than the E90-2. Also, I have only seen the E104 Wagner with a blank back, although the Nadja back version is known to exist. E104 Wagner with the Nadja back would clearly be up there on the list of most scarce Wagner portrait cards. |
