T206 Portrait Prices

I was looking at some of the PSA5 T206 Hofer Portrait hammer prices in Goodwins and was surprised at how high they were. I haven't been follwing these prices closely but it looks like the Portraits are twice as much or more than the same player action shots.
PSA5 Portraits
Brown 436
Collins 480
Evers 1026
Tinker 847
Waddell 528
Walsh 528
etc.
Is this a recent turn of events?

I was a little surprised at the Evers being that high and thought the Brown Portrait was under market.

The prices seem pretty much in line with these recent eBay prices:

Chance Yellow 349
Chesbro 463
Evers 811
Evers 1061
Keeler 710
Marquard 442
Wallace 321
Walsh 511

Chance Yellow is abundant and Wallace is a minor HOFer which may explain why they sold in the 300s.
