I think Olbermann got a deal...... especially the ovals (D380-1) at $1K ea.


Lots of nice stuff for a Thur..... my fav was the E221 SF Seals card. Obviously they should adjust the book value on these. My bid was about 40% of the winner and I thought I had a chance.

They were only inexpensive because the underbidders didn't go high enough. I'm willing to bet the three snipe bids were consistent with their rarity.

From the last several I have seen sold I thought the prices were about right...maybe a tad low. I bought one of mine that is really nice from the man with "America's Toughest Wantlist" and it was about $1400...and was quite a bit nicer than any of those. I bought it about a year ago......Neat cards ....My snipes were set quite a bit lower as I had already gone over my daily card allowance (actually my yearly card allowance) a little while earlier........regards

I cant remember the last time I actually bid on an item the normal way.

Funny... you just reminded me of when I sniped a stuffed animal pluto doll.

completely unnecessary, but I am used to sniping stuff.

When I won it, I thought to myself - underbidders for this item had no chance.

Outside of the collectibles market, when we snipe something on eBay its almost unfair.

Deep pockets don't always go deep.....I have outbid/sniped lot's of folks with far deeper pockets than my blue jean ones....and if at least one of these underbidders really wanted these he would have won them. I think, as scarce as these are, the condition held them back from skyrocketing....just my opinion though....

I was setting my snipe on the last lot when my snipe service (Hanksta-3000X) was disrupted by my cat knocking over my beer on the kitchen table.
I had my Christmas bonus checking burning up and really wanted to spend it. My snipe would have been over Keith’s winning bid by $125, but I'm sure he was much higher.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone ever noticed that every card that this seller sells has a small piece of tape on the back - whether its a t206 or some obscure/rare card like those above.

That suggests they all came from a single source, probably a scrapbook since many have back damage. He obviously found one fabulous book.
