| Help with Wagner item

Posted By: Jim F I'm sure this has been talked about before but I could not find it by searching old posts. I am trying to date and price this deck of playing cards. I'm thinking 50's. Are these what's called the "Brown and Bigelow". Thanks, Jim. |

Posted By: Dan Bretta Yep that's the 1950s Brown and Bigelow cards. A complete deck in the condition shown is about $50-75. |

Posted By: Jim F Thanks Dan. It is being offered to me for $150, I had a feeling it was high. I guess the guy saw single cards selling for $4-$5 on ebay and priced it from that. Jim. |

Posted By: joe brennan Brown and Bigelow was a first class printing company in the 50's. They did alot of high quality prints in that era. I collect Maxfield Parrish prints and he was very picky about who did prints of his paintings. Brown and Bigelow was who he chose for his 50's work. Joe |

Posted By: Dan Bretta A sealed deck of the Ty Cobb set sold for just a little over $100 a month or so back on ebay...also saw a double deck that was still sealed with Connie Mack and I think Lou Gehrig that sold for less than $200 so you're wise to stay away at that price. |

Posted By: Jim F Thanks guys. I ended up taking it on consignment. It started by me offering $50 and the guy asking $200, so we were way apart. I'm just going to ebay it for him and whatever happens, happens. Thanks again for the quick responses. Jim. |
