found this tidbit online "The June 26, 1907 edition of the Toronto Star carried a front-page story describing how second baseman Tim Flood of the Toronto Baseball Club was jailed for 15 days for an attack on an umpire. "

Could be the same Flood who played for STL and BOS

Is it a postcard or a smaller card?

If it's the professional Toronto team (and it sure looks like it), then it should have some players who were in the majors. One such guy was Jack Thoney who played from 1902 to 1911 in Cleveland, Boston, New York and elsewhere.

This in-action postcard features him on Opening Day in 1907 at Hanlon's Point in Toronto.

Sorry if the scan's a bit large...

Yes it is a post card. I just stumbled across a bunch of early 1900's post cards. Some are actually baseball comics. Like "left Fielder, All you can catch is the measles". Thank for the info on the players.

It looks as if the runner is headed toward 3rd base. Can you tell if the catcher has a glove on his right hand? It would be rare to see a left handed catcher.
Thanks,
Mike

If I recall, the last everyday catcher who was left handed was Jack Clements of the Philadelphia Phillies (among others). My memory is shot but I think he held the record for games caught- career for some time. He does have several Old Judge cards.

Could be the ball hit him, and he's on his way to the mound.

My initial thought was that the negative was reversed in the printing process, and no one realized the error; however http://www.baseball-reference.com/t/thoneja01.shtml states that Thoney batted righthanded. Perhaps he was hit by pitch as suggested, or he is just finishing an awkward swing, rather than heading to first (third) base.
