These are all cards that were just laying around the Mastro offices when we got the tour. I remember seeing all the Plows, including the Cobb and Matty and thinking, wow, it would be real easy to pick this up and pocket it. I'm sure there is pretty tight security as far as cameras, etc. Check out the Frank Chance New York pennant, this thing is absolutely stunning in person, as were most of the other pennants I saw there.

How about PSA's work slabbing those Plows Candy cards? Having a valuable card like that sliding around inside the holder and possibly getting damaged makes no sense to me.

But since this is my first time submitting to Mastronet, I'm kind of excited. Feel free to check out my item.

I just hope it does well. Wish me luck!

Jim, you ticket is swell. I once had a roughed up stub, and it wasn't cheap.

Thanks! I lucked out, I found the ticket in the pages of a book about 20 years ago. I finally decided to part with it after having Mastro submit it to PSA for me. I've always loved the design, and I kind of kept track of other fulls over the years, but deep down, I'm a Mets fan.

Actually I was disappointed by the offerings this go round in Mastro. If you collect caramel cards, E90-1 through E107, the cupboard is bare except for that E94 Young which is going to sell for a zillion.

..the pre-war hockey segment impressive.
of course all those sets come from one collection that also gave us many of the sets over the last two auctions (ie, Killer George Millers).

lots of things that look very familiar elsewhere.

if you collect bobbin head dolls, you are probably in 7th Heaven. What a great selection of rare and off beat dolls along with some tough to find examples in nice shape.

Bob--I kinda feel the way you do as a 19th century collector. Aside from the Kalamazoo Bats cabinets there really isn't a great selection of 19th century material. Maybe they're holding out for a big 19th century fall auction.

Does anyone else think the Mastro Wagner looks kind of funny at the top border?

I know that Mastro must check out that card carefully, but it just looks strange to me.

going after the Boston Garter Evers, though it is restored.....nice piece.

Sucks that around 8yrs ago, I could have gotten it for 1750.00 , but the references that I asked about the sellers at that time says that just about everything that these folks had were altered.

Guess I'll see what happens.

Good luck to all

-Dan

If anyone wins the Mastronet lot #927 of vintage baseball photos, I would love to buy the Chief Meyers photo in that lot.

Thanks, Patrick

Last Mastro auction I won 3 lots but this time around I really don't think I stand a chance to win any..I am amazed on high conditon content they have this time around. I don't have that kind of $$$$$'s to hang with the big boys who I am sure going to gooble up these gems.
