How does a grading service, in this case Beckett, grade an S74 silk of Cobb a "5" when there are stitch marks around 2 of the borders?? Did it just slip through or are standards different for silks?? ebay auction 5145944789 |

Good question Terry. Besides the needle marks, it appears the section showing the factory # is missing. If this was a 205 with pin holes and a piece torn off where would it grade? I really don't believe there's a set of standards for grading silks. Presently both the white and colored series are all over the boards. If anyone's aware of something different I'd be grateful to hear. I can see where third party grading has its benefiets in the card world, not quite there for silks yet though. As with most things, best to know what you're buying I guess. |
