Do any of you know who won the enormous lot of W600 Cabinets in the Mastro auction, and whether they will be breaking it up and reselling it? Thanks. |

My guess is a significant amount of the vintage card material in this auction will end up as individual lots on ebay. Perhaps this is a partial answer to why the 'small guy' bidder no longer has much of a chance in these auctions. |

Dunno about that either. Several dealers I have dealt with buying Indian cards from were bemoaning the fact that the lots went for so much money that there was no way a dealer could make money on them. Several of those dealers were after the N2 lot with 2 complete sets and they didn't win. |

Meant to respond to this earlier--boy, a thread can get buried here in a day sometimes. I have noticed a growing trend of ebay-only type dealers ending up with lots they have won from the big auction companies and turning them around within 3-8 weeks as individual lots. There are a handful of dealers who specialize in this practice in vintage bb cards. Especially in the lower to middle condition range, as those are the ones I am interested in and follow. I doubt if many are getting rich by doing this, but there is money to be made. It is a bummer that these big auction lots have pretty much locked out the average joe bidder, but at least within my realm of collecting interest, I have a decent chance to see some of these cards down the road. |

I know who won the lot (it wasn't me or anyone who posts on the board). The non-HOFers will be going into his collection. There is a possibility that some of the HOFers will be sold out if they are duplicates. If anyone has specific cards they are looking for let me know and I will pass the info along. |
