Default March Grading Numbers

March Grading numbers from Gem Rate.

Overall grading activity was ⬆2% in March compared to February and ⬆13% YoY.

March results set a new high for the second consecutive month. Grading activity increased to 1.97 million cards graded in March, up ~35k compared to February.

PSA graded 1.47m cards - ⬆2% vs Feb, ⬆10% YoY.

CGC graded 248k cards - ⬇13% vs Feb, ⬆34% YoY.

SGC graded 174k cards - ⬆19% vs Feb, ⬆18% YoY.

Beckett graded 69k cards - ⬆30% vs Feb, ⬆4% YoY.

March data for Beckett includes ~14k cards graded in Jan & Feb ‘25 that were delayed hitting the pop report.

Two thoughts;

1. Amazing that nearly 2 million cards were graded in March.
2. SGC is almost only grading sports cards these days.

PSA is grading 50,000 cards a day if that's right. Insane.

Definitely. And think about this:

The lowest price right now is $17 per card for grading. So they are making at least 25 million a month (lowest estimate).

Not to mention all the fees for ebay "authentication" and I use the term advisedly. And the fees for selling vaulted cards.

Looks like CGC is taking a strong foothold in the TCG market.

"Amazing that nearly 2 million cards were graded in March."

Even more amazing is that there are now at least 4 legitimate Grading Companies and PSA has the lions share of grading on those 2 million cards (75%)......

I haven’t although I was considering sending in 2 cards. How bad is the actual follow-through?

The more expensive services are largely on time.
