Default T206 Blue Hal Chase portrait SC 350-450 42OP…do you have one?

I know they’re tougher, but how tough? PSA shows total pop of 5. SGC info is unavailable.

Just wondering how many are out there in the wild. Who has one?

I have one in a PSA 2. I see around 6 for sale, without looking for them, on average each year. I wouldn't call them rare or even scarce. I even had a chance to upgrade my PSA 2 to a PSA 4 a few months ago, but didn't. There are many Sweet Caporal 350 Factory 25's that are much more scarce, and worth searching out, to get some decent rarity at a regular card price. I have the population numbers for 2017, 2019, and then I just noted the 2025 cards that had 4 cards or less. It's taken 8 years for some cards to go from a pop 2 to a 4. Other cards have only added one additional card over the last 6 years. So I would say theres some nice low population cards to search out within the 350/25 group.

Nice run of Hal Chase Portrait's. Mines the same, except for your Lenox. You got me beat on that one. I remember around 14 years ago I had an opportunity to add a Lenox to my run for $1100 but I didn't get it, and figured I'd have plenty of time to get another one. I was wrong lol.

Thanks Leon! I have Chris Browne to thank...we did a deal a few years ago, and I acquired about 11 of them from him (he has since rebuilt his amazing run).

Ron, thanks, would love to see your run! Re: the Lenox, it was also acquired from Chris. I stood tall to get it from him, but worth it. It's a rare card.

Best-
Michael

Ron - Thanks for the breakdown. I haven’t had the luck you’ve had in finding this specific over print back. Odd that the PSA pop # hasn’t grown much, if at all, over the past few years considering the huge quantities of T206s being submitted (the overall quantity of all T206s graded/auth is now 290k+). I understand that most likely many older PSA graded cards, with this specific back, have been rolled into the general Sweet Cap total and not broken out with more detail as they are now. I’ve been looking fairly closely for about three years and found only two of this back…and I feel fortunate to have found those. The hunt continues.
I agree with you regarding the SC 350/25 backs. I only casually look for those and find only a few. They’re definitely also challenging.

Michael – great run! Stunning array of the various backs.

I am still interested to know how many other Net54ers have a copy of this card. I appreciate the feedback.

Chris and I were building our Hal Chase Blue Portrait runs at the same time. (Chris’s first build, that you acquired part of). So that Lenox you have is the same card I passed on, and Chris bought for his set. I will work on posting my Hal Chase run in the next few days within this post.

Looking forward to seeing your run, Ron. Seems to be a popular card to build a run. Although I didn't know Ted Zanidakis outside of this board, the blue Chase runs will always make me think of him...and now I will think of you guys as well. You guys have some great cards.

My Chase Blue is a SC 350/25:

https://www.net54baseball.com/pictur...ictureid=30894

It was a BST pickup from a few years ago.

Funny story: I used to have another SC350/25. After a trade, I regretted letting it go, so I went out and replaced it. Given the low pop count, I got fairly lucky and found it quickly.
