Playing this pretty much every day, I’ve discovered a few favorite players that tend to tick a bunch of boxes — thought I’d share and see if you all have some ‘go to’ players. Mine are:
Sam Mertes - 5 teams, almost every position, including pitcher, 100 runs, 100 rbis, 30 steals Bill Hallman - 5 (active) teams, 30 steals and played almost every position including pitcher Bobo Newsom - 40+ WAR, 6+ WAR for a few teams of the 9 he played for, 200 wins, 2000 K’s Ron Kline - pitched for 9 teams, played 3rd base and had 10+ wins |

Al Simmons, Waite Hoyt, Burleigh Grimes and Heinie Manush are ones I use a lot. Most prewar players will get a low score.
