Default Need a little help with this cut up lot....Sovereign Cobb!

Just picked up this cool and creative lot of which not 1 card survived the original owner's scissors!

I've also never seen a T3 like the Chase with so much of the original card removed!

Couple of questions for the group:

#1 What is the card designation for the Marquard? The back has been pulled off apparently from a scrapbook or was it a blank back to begin with? I've seen a D329 1916 H Weil Baking M101-4 Card of Rube with same pose but not sure this is that card or an M101-4 Sporting News, or a Famous and Barr? I have no idea how to tell the difference.

#2 Does anyone know which grading company if any would slab the Cobb Sovereign back? I remember SGC refusing to grade cards if a certain percentage was missing. I feel there is about 65% of the Cobb remaining. Obviously not looking for a number grade just wondering if any company will slab it? I'm guessing "no" but was just curious.

Thanks!

CGC would prob be the only option for slabbing.

I bought the below Gehrig slabbed...so maybe SGC is a possibility on the T206 Cobb.

Also the Marquard appears in both the M101-4 and M101-5 groupings of cards. Since the number below his name/team has been cut off, I don't believe that that it could be specifically narrowed down as from the M101-4 grouping (#113) or from the M101-5 grouping (#110).

By the way, nice 'mytypeof' cards.

Thanks everyone and I will email SGC today to see if they might slab the Cobb.

Appreciate the input always!

The cards have character. I have always collected items that had a personal significance

I am in agreement with the posters so far, these look great and are a nifty look at the past. I would actually be an interested watcher in any of the full cut outs in an auction. It would be nice to slab them not really for any better reason than to protect them from damage

Cool cards, Mike!

Based on all the cutouts and the associated back damage/paper residue on all of the cards, it's quite possible these were all cut up and pasted together onto a poster board to create a collage.

Default Thanks!

Appreciate the responses and the idea that they may have all been a collage at one time. Thanks!

Mike
