I went to Goldin's website and accidentally clicked on the January Elite Auction, instead of the Winter Elite Auction. Not to be too critical, but the January auction is a disorganized mess. The shiny stuff is mixed in with the vintage stuff. All sports (and non-sport cards) are mixed together. There's just no rhyme or reason to it. Buried about 20 pages in is an N162 Anson. I bet a lot of people looking for that card would never find it on Goldin's site.

The Winter auction is incredible, though it's probably all out of my price range.

Yes, that's what I figured. I've now looked past the first page of the Winter Auction and see that there are some items that potentially are affordable, so maybe I have a chance on a lot or two.

I just checked out the Golden Auction Plenty of vintage as usual--Some very high end lots--I like the 5k-20K lots--hard to handle those 6 figure lots--I do see a few cards I would love to win--but dont want to out them--Most will know my likes--Good Luck all--

Certainly looks like Goldin has ramped up their vintage card auctions / presence.

It's a great auction, but is there anything here you haven't seen at auction in the last year or two? Maybe a few items. Lots of great auctions at Heritage come and go with 450 page catalogs. And they merit barely a comment. The amount of stuff being sold is staggering these days.

I was asking feedback because this is only the 2nd Auction done by Goldin Dedicated specifically to Vintage
We have done threads on other auction houses as they change or enhance like REA with the Platform, when auction houses raise their BP from 20% to 22% etc so this is just similar to that

Great auction. If they wanted to make an auction of very rare items which are rarely seen, they'd have a 100 lot auction and everyone would be oohing and ahhing. Sadly, they're a business and they have customers who aren't all able to bid on mid-5 to 6 figure lots, so they have to add a ton of other stuff for everyone else.

I like Goldin's auctions a lot. And I find their customer service very good.

It's just interesting to me which auctions are ooohed and ahhed over on the board and which amazing auctions come and go with no mention at all. If there have been "Show Us What You Got at Heritage" or "Show Us what You Got at SCP" posts I haven't noticed them.

I wonder if a Net54 Admin could post AH site links to the Net54 Calendar on the AH’s auction start day, as well as major shows? There are some items there, however not comprehensive. A single source view would be incredibly appreciated and helpful, as it seems nearly impossible to keep up with it all from disparate sources.

Bottom line is that Joe T has done a great job for Goldin. Without him, I believe, very little of the great stuff would have been consigned. Also, because a lot of people really like Joe, I believe his presence gets Goldin more mentions here. I bet JP really regrets allowing Joe to get away from ML. I am hard pressed to think of a more valuable person in the auction business than Joe.

Jay You are so right on Joe T.--He has been a good friend to me for many years--I value his knowledge of the hobby--I only consign with Joe T., When he left Memory Lane for Golden, I followed him with my consignments--Joe is a big plus to any auction house he works for--He has the best writeups and I always get a good return on my lots--I always enjoy our get togethers with a meal and great laughs. Anyway, the second Golden Vintage auction has started and bids are flying in--It seems like the cards I bid on keep getting bumps--Good Stuff for sure.

Looks like Joe T and Goldin put together another solid auction with a very nice variety of blue chip cards.

I was the high bidder on the 6 at $46K and on the 7 at $55K. Was hoping bids would hold up Lol

Not sure where each one ends. Centering on both is superb.

It's another great auction. The problem with great auctions is AH management always wants more!! Good job to Joe T and team for this one...

Actually the bigger problem with with great auctions is we always need more money to keep pace.

Sadly most of us cannot

Are you guys browsing this site on mobile or something? Does it work differently than using a laptop/desktop?

I'm tech savvy and I have no idea how to not get junk from searches.

I search for "1922" and I get...5 pages of returns, headlined by a slew of 1959 and 1969 cards.

I search for "caramel" and I get...Carmelo Anthony cards. I get what's going on there, but it's still ass.

It would be nice to actually see if there's anything in any of their auctions I would want to throw my money at...

The mobile app seems to work much better for searching everything via “Search all lots and listings.”

On the site, I only have luck searching inside of a particular auction using “Search Lots.”
