Why is it people who yell "Snowflake" seem to be the most sensitive of all?

Sorry Leon. I can't help myself. Please don't delete my account.

I loathe this "snowflake" "insult" that gets tossed around. Snowflakes are beautiful, unique, and sensitive. None of those are bad qualities in a human being.

Plus if you put millions of them together they can do some serious damage. Blizzard, avalanche etc...

Well then it must be a good one if it offends at least some people.

The last one is for a man. I pride myself on having a thick skin.

But with respect to boards, differences of opinion happen. In fact when these disagreements get heated, there are those who thrive on trading barbs.

+1

The rugged never throw hissy fits about leaving after board exchanges. By definition only snowflakes do that.

Isn't the current crop of kids descended from flower child hippies who eventually became helicopter parents, i.e. really sensitive types all?

If you could just take a moment to fill out this hurt feelings report, someone will be along to assist you shortly.

Yeah, but he's claiming to be leaving because others...and I quote..."easily get butt hurt".

So technically I guess, he got "butt hurt" over other people getting "butt hurt"?

I'm not sure. Might have to kick this up the chain of command to get a definitive answer on this one.

Honestly, I expected a higher understanding of irony from somebody who introduced themselves to us with the moniker "BigfootIsReal".

I guess what they say is true. Irony is officially dead.

Kinda weird timing, as we just received this little Patterson Film inspired Sasquatch (we eponymously named him "Patters") desk figurine today...

I don't have a scan of the back of this 1923 Zeenut card of Leard, but I am pretty sure "bunts like a moron" is handwritten there.

Also, these things are not entirely the same...one can be thick-skinned and still acknowledge their sensitivity as a human being toward others. I would argue that one who describes themself as thick-skinned (denoting that one is able to deflect or brush off the insensivity of others) proves that they are, in fact, quite sensitive.

On a serious note. I hope we're not being too hard on BigFoot. There's a fine line between general annoyance and John Lithgowing him out of here for his own good.

Maybe we SHOULD be the snowflakes, and show him some empathy.

I agree to a certain degree, but I do make an exception for those who have frequently provided valuable insight about cards and card sets, or who stopped posting because they passed away. Ted Z would be a great example of both.
